India and China are set to conduct Major General-level talks to strengthen confidence-building measures and reduce friction and trust deficit between the two countries' armies till the two main face-offs at Depsang and Demchok in eastern Ladakh can be resolved. Preserving the buffer zones, adhering to border protocols, exchanging prior information on patrols, and not increasing force levels are some of the CBMs that will be strengthened.
